Mehmet Oz's campaign said that John Fetterman would have never had a stroke if he had ever eaten a vegetable.

"As a daytime TV host, Dr. Oz exploited the hopes and fears of his viewers by promoting unproven, ill-advised, and at times potentially dangerous treatments." Even in instances where people's health is at risk, he will enrich himself above all else.

A Health News Review analysis found that almost all of the statements Oz made on "The Doctor Oz Show" did not align with evidence-based medical guidelines.

Some of the home remedies and treatments provided by the show's medical board were potentially dangerous according to Dr. Ben Abella.

Oz's team responded to the controversy over his use of the word "crudité" to describe a tray of vegetables in a video. Fetterman referred to the tray as a veggie tray.

Rachel Tripp, Oz's senior communications advisor, told Insider that if John Fetterman had ever eaten a vegetable in his life, he wouldn't have had a major stroke.

Fetterman said that he couldn't imagine making fun of someone's health challenges.

Rachel Tripp, Oz's senior communications advisor, told Insider that Oz has been urging people to eat more veggies for a long time. That isn't a form of mockery. Good health advice is what it is. We are only attempting to help.

Fetterman had a stroke on May 13 and stayed out of the public eye until August.

Fetterman's campaign revealed that he was dealing with serious heart conditions while he was recovering from his stroke.

Fetterman spoke at his first public rally since his stroke and said he was thankful to be alive.

While Fetterman stayed away from public events in order to recover, Oz's campaign set up an attack website that referred to the candidate as a "bastard."

A representative for Fetterman didn't reply immediately.
