The Green Bay Packers used to have a time when the starter was the older one, and the younger one was the young one.

He is siding with Jimmy Garoppolo when it comes to the quarterback room.

In comments shared by the 33rd Team, the Hall of Famer said that Garoppolo deserves to keep playing because he has been a winner during his time with the 49ers.

Garoppolo has appeared in just three games for the 49ers in the last two years due to injuries. It is difficult to argue with the idea that all he does is win when he is healthy.

The San Francisco 49ers made it to the playoffs this past season, and went to the Super Bowl during the year.

Garoppolo has thrown for more than 3,800 yards in each of the last three seasons and is just 30 years old. He will be in his prime for the next few seasons even though he won't have a job in San Francisco.

It was clear that the team would eventually move away from Garoppolo when they traded up and selected Lance.

Kyle Shanahan has made it clear that this is Lance's team even though a Garoppolo trade hasn't happened yet. Whether the 22-year-old can live up to his potential as a dual-threat player remains to be seen, but his ability to run the ball could open up different ways for the offense.

The issue with Garoppolo may be part of the reason for those avenues. San Francisco was close but never made it to the sport's highest point.

Even if it disagrees with the decision, it will change with the new quarterback.
