Amazon is launching a new tool that will allow video game players to use natural language voice commands to do things in the game. Dead Island 2 will be the first game to feature the technology.

You will be able to use your voice to switch weapons and interact with other people. The feature will work with any microphone or headset connected to their PC or console, and you won't need to use a wake word like "Alexa" or even have one of Amazon'sEcho devices. You will be able to use features such as controlling smart home devices.

While connected to the internet, you won't need to be able to play the game offline, but it's optional. If you don't have an Amazon account you won't be able to use the voice control.

In Dead Island 2, you will be able to use your voice to access in-game features, such as navigation, and to modify zombie hordes.

It will be available in English in North America, but Amazon isn't saying when it will be available in more countries. The feature will only work on PC or XBOX according to the website. "Our vision is to become available everywhere games are played." Hopefully, that will mean that the game control will be available on the Nintendo and PSone platforms in the future.
