The smart homes just dropped and they look pretty cool.
According to USA Today, a Panama-based company called Ocean Builders has unveiled the Sea Pod, a rounded, two-person, three-and-a-half-story luxury home. The stark white interiors are modern and each Pod has a panoramic view of the ocean. In the company's vision, drones will serve as life guards and deliver things like groceries and medicine, which makes sense.
Is it already sold? It will take a few years before you actually get to live in it, but if you have $295,000 to $1.5 million on hand, you can order one soon.
Ocean Builders claims that the Sea Pod is the world's first "eco-restorative home" because it provides shade from the harsh sun.
The company says that every Sea Pod that goes in the water gets them one step closer to restoring a marine environment.
According to a USA Today report, if you're worried about the environment, garbage will be collected, and other debris will be thrown away.
According to USA Today, Ocean Builders says that the first 100 Pods will either be in production or delivered by the end of the year, and the company is hoping to roll out 1000 more structures over the next year.
"Our ultimate goal is to have Sea Pod homes in every corner of the ocean, all around the world," the CEO said in a statement.
If you love the ocean and have enough money to escape the impending climate catastrophe, the Sea Pod could be a good fit for you. It may sound too good to be true.
Fleets of futuristic homes that float above the sea are "revolutionizing" aquatic living.
