The company said in an email to partners on Tuesday that it was lifting its exclusive agreement. Beginning today, partners will be able to stream on more than one platform, but not at the same time.

The company wrote in the email that it was important for streamers to focus on live streaming on twitch for their community. The best place for creators to build and engage with community is on twitch Many of you are engaging with your communities in many different places since we first introduced the partner program. Updating our policy is what we're doing.

It believes that engaging with two streams at once can lead to a "sub-optimal experience" for viewers. The company acknowledges that some partners want to use other services to grow their community, so it is allowed to simulcast on TikTok.

The change applies to most of the partners on the platform according to the FAQ page. If you are able to view your partner agreement on your dashboard, then the change applies to you. If partners can't see their agreement, or if this change applies to them, they're asked to reach out.

There isn't an amount of time they need to wait before they start their live stream. The other channels can still be advertised on their panels and streams.

It has happened with some of its notable streamers, including DrLupo and Myth, that they have left the platform to stream on other platforms because of the partner exclusive clause that was ended by twitch.
