William Mohan was suspended by the University of Tennessee after he was arrested in Tennessee.
The school is aware of the recent arrest of a football player. He was banned from all team activities.
Police arrived at 6 a.m. on Sunday. Mohan was aggressive during the encounter, according to the woman who lives in the apartment.
According to the woman, Mohan was drunk when she invited him. Wilson gave more information.
"Mohan attempted to initiate sex, but the woman denied his advances and he became angry, she told officers.
"The report says Mohan called the woman derogatory names and grabbed her face and began choking her. She said she demanded Mohan leave, but he stood on the bed and refused to go."
Mohan is said to have grabbed the woman by the throat with one hand and took the knife away from her.
Mohan went back to the house and knocked on the door to get in. The man passed out in the house.
Mohan has been charged with a serious crime.
He recorded nine tackles in his first season with the Volunteers. After his freshman year in 2020, he moved to Tennessee.
