Director Matt Reeves with Robert Pattinson in costume as Batman.

The news of a major Batman project is falling. A few have gone up. The writer-director and his company 6th and Idaho just signed a first look deal with Warner Bros. to continue to develop and expand his Batman universe, which began with last year's hit, The Batman. He is working on a sequel with a new writer, continuing the Colin Farrell-led Penguin show, and possibly developing a long-rumored project as well.

Since Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy were hired by Warner Bros., there have been no major deals given to filmmakers. The relationship between De Luca and Matt from The Batman was passed on to De Luca and Pam. The overall deal is a cornerstone of what we want to do with the filmmakers that are working at the studio. We want to create a place where all of the filmmakers can thrive and stay with us once they are inside the Warners family. The creation of a home for Matt to do more projects in the Batman universe and also originals was very important to us.

It's refreshing to see that Warner Bros. is moving forward with a project. It began with the cancellation of the Batgirl film, which was followed by a number of different movies and TV shows, including the ones that were animated. The company stopped streaming episodes of the children's show. There is a show called Sesame Street.

Batman: Caped Crusader was halted earlier this week and will be shopped around to other outlets. It seems like everything is dying, but it is not. Anything else he wants to make, lives.

It's a dream to make this studio my home. I'm excited to work with Mike, Pam, and the WB TV team to bring captivating stories to the big and small screen.

The sequel to Batman is being written by the same team that wrote Project Power and Mother/Android.
