The FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago was the subject of a lawsuit filed by Donald Trump.

The FBI searched Trump's Florida estate on August 8. The New York Times reported that sensitive White House records were found in the basement of Mar-a-Lago.

The Department of Justice is being sued to stop them from looking at the seized materials.

The raid was described in the lawsuit as a "shockingly aggressive move" and that there was no understanding of the distress that it would cause.

His legal team claimed in the lawsuit that the search was politically motivated and that Trump was the clear front runner in the Republican Presidential Primary and the General Election should he run.

The FBI's affidavit for the search warrant was found to be reliable by the federal judge, but he hasn't decided how much of it will be released to the public.

A representative for Trump did not respond to the request for comment.
