According to a new report, more than 300 classified documents were retrieved from Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago home.

The New York Times reported late Monday that the initial batches of documents retrieved by the National Archives in January included 150 documents marked classified with the rest being retrieved in June and during the FBI search of Trump's Florida residence.

The sheer volume may explain why the Justice Department moved so quickly to recover any additional documents.

The fact that there were so many classified documents left after so many government requests suggested that Trump was not cooperating and was handling them in a cavalier way.

Trump wants a federal judge to appoint a special master to review the seized documents, even though he was no longer president.
