The Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake for PS5 and PC will be developed by a Saber Interactive studio in Eastern Europe.

The game, announced last September in a short trailer during a Sony showcase, was originally being made by Aspyr. The remake was put on hold after a demo was shown to Lucasfilm and Sony.

A statement in Embracer's earnings report last week seemed to suggest that Saber could be taking over. One of the group's projects has moved to another studio. The quality bar is where we want it to be for the title.

The title will not be delayed because of the transition, according to the earnings report. The company hasn't said when the remake will be released. The person didn't reply to the request for comment.

It was reported last week that Embracer had acquired the intellectual property rights to parts of Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. The makers of games like Saints Row and Borderlands are included in the stable of studios.
