The peer reviewed analysis of 16 global studies found that regular physical activity in weekly routines helps protect people against Covid-19.

The researchers found that 75 minutes of vigorous intensity activity a week offered the best protection against Covid infections.

The researchers said that regular exercisers had a 9% lower risk of Covid infections and a 44% lower risk of serious disease.

The researchers found that those who incorporated exercise into their weekly routine had a lower risk of hospital admission and death than those who didn't.

Some protection against the disease was offered by lower levels of exercise.

The researchers said the findings could help policymakers and clinicians develop guidelines to help reduce the risk of Covid-19 though they noted the results could be weakened by the use of studies with different research methods and by subjective assessments of activity

The researchers noted that physical activity has a positive effect on immunity and that it's possible to protect against Covid. It has been shown to boost the immune system and the body's anti- inflammatory responses, as well as mitigate the negative effects of stress on immunity. The researchers said that the higher level of cardiovascular and muscular fitness in people who exercise regularly could explain why it protects against Covid.
