The man fell unconscious at the subway station after he was hit in the head with a rock.

The suspect is a man in his thirties.

According to a statement from the New York City Police Department, the victim was walking on the Q subway line platform when he was confronted by the suspect.

The individual retrieved a rock and pulled himself onto the platform after entering the track area. The rock was used to hit the victim's head, causing him to lose consciousness.

A video posted by the NYPD shows two people, one with no shirt, the other with a backpack, engaging in a fight. A person wearing a backpack is seen being struck by a person who is not wearing a shirt.

The suspect ran away from the train station. The victim, who was in stable condition but had suffered a head injury, was taken to an area hospital by emergency services.

Police can't say if the attack was unprovoked because they don't know a reason for the altercation.
