In July alone, Save America paid nearly $1 million to civil and criminal defense attorneys as investigations into him and the Trump Organization heated up.

A spokeswoman for Trump didn't reply to the request for comment.

According to the FEC filing this weekend, the PAC paid over a million dollars for legal services in July.

In June, the organization spent more money on legal services than they did in April.

According to the filing, one of the law firms received more than half a million dollars from the political action committee in July.

The Trump Organization is being investigated by the office of the New York Attorney General.

James is looking into allegations that the Trump Organization manipulated the valuations of real estate assets to get more favorable loan and insurance terms.

Trump invoked his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination more than 450 times, as he refused to answer questions from James' lawyers at a court-mandated deposition. Donald Trump Jr. andIvanka Trump were deposed in July.

According to the FEC filing, Save America paid Alan Futerfas $184,700 in July.

James was represented by Futerfas in his investigation. The Trump Organization is being prosecuted by the Manhattan District Attorney.

The company is set to go on trial this fall on charges related to its alleged 15-year scheme to avoid the payment of taxes on compensation for top officials in the Trump Organization.

The company's former chief financial officer Allen Weisselberg pleaded guilty to multiple tax fraud charges in the case and agreed to testify against the Trump Organization at trial. Weisselberg will be sentenced to five months in jail and pay more than $2 million in taxes.

Drew Findling, an Atlanta criminal defense attorney, was paid $100,000 by Save America last month. The National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers was once led by Findling.

Findling was hired by the Fulton County District Attorney to represent the ex-president in the criminal investigation into the 2020 election.

The Georgia Secretary of State is the state's top election official. Trump asked Raffensperger to find 11,780 votes so that Biden could be defeated.

Trump called the investigation by James and the Manhattan District Attorney a "witch hunt" and denied any wrongdoing.

Rudy Giuliani, who was Donald Trump's personal lawyer, was named a target of the investigation.

The grand jury in Atlanta is collecting testimony behind closed doors, and Giuliani was there for more than six hours.
