• The golf ball was sent by a fan onto the 15th green.

  • The golfer threw the ball into the lake.

  • Scott Stallings was amused by the scene.

On Saturday at the BMW Championship, there was a rather surprising interruption.

A fan got a remote-controlled golf ball onto the green and tried to sink it in the hole.

While golf is not usually a sport that features defense, McIlroy jumped into action, keeping the ball out of the hole and grabbing it and tossing it into the water in front of the crowd.

Scott Stallings told USA Today that he heard a man yelling "This is my dream, this is my dream" I'm not sure what he was dreaming about, but his ball is gone.

The fan was not allowed to return to the scene.

Stallings was happy with the way the situation was handled by the golfer.

Stallings thought it was great. I was going to do it the same way.

The golfer parred the hole and finished his round at seven-under. He is currently in seventh place in the FedExCup playoff race.
