Nine little words start where we are today. Get that boy off the field. Donald Trump realized that he needed something else after lying about Barack Obama being American. The wave that he could ride throughout his presidency was caused by another moment, or target, that would fire up his base. Colin Kaepernick, a proud Black man that had gotten too big for britches, dared Americans to wake up and pay attention to the fact that police were killing Black people at will, as he challenged the country to digest the fact that police were killing Black people at will. He sat, then kneeled, during this country's song, which has a racist third verse, before this country's favorite sport is played. Trump and his supporters believed that civil and peaceful demonstrations to challenge what this country was supposed to be built on were somehow un, as they believed that the police should be defunded at worst and reformed at best. If things haven't changed It may be the first time in American history that a former President needs his passport taken, as the Justice Department announced last week that it had returned Trump's. Since January 6th, when the FBI executed a search warrant at Trump's Mar-a-Lago property, things have gone from bad to worse. The goalpost moving that he and his supporters have been doing has been fascinating to watch as the speculation grows about what could be. It has been a testament to how dangerous a man and his followers can be when they don't believe in adhering to rules.
An associate professor of practice at the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy at the University of Michigan and a former senior counterterrorism official at the Department of Homeland Security said that they haven't seen this level of real mobilize to potential violence since the 90s. It is upsetting to my colleagues at the FBI that they are taking this as seriously as they should be.
A man crashed his car into a barricade at the US Capitol and then shot himself in the head.
What happened to Backing the Blue?
Isn't this the same group of people who supported the police, the military, and those in uniform? The bad guy that disrespected the flag and our country was a few years ago, and that's how it was portrayed by the media. Just a few weeks ago Republican senators were fist-bumping in celebration after a vote that held up aid for veterans, as GOP members like Marjorie Taylor Greene posted upside-down American flags on social media and said "DeFUND THE FBI", all because the walls are
The antics that Trump's supporters have put on over the past few weeks have been the epitome of irony. The people are either caught in a display of mental gymnastics as they bend their words and ideologies to conform against the facts and evidence that are being provided, or they are slowly trying to distance themselves from him.
Laura Ingraham thinks that the country is so tired. Ms. yes, that's right. She seems to be concerned about how things are going for her friend. Maybe it is time to turn the page if we can get someone who has all of Trump's policies.
That's the thing. This wasn't just about policy or legislation. It was about the fact that millions of people could vote for Trump because they knew he would say what they wanted. A man that wasn't afraid to campaign on hate was behind Stacking the Supreme Court to overturn abortion rights and other possible cases that could lead to the outlawing of things like affirmative action. The tax that this county had to pay for having the audacity toelect a Black president twice, and a quarterback that dared to remind white America that everything from their beloved football games, songs, and police departments are founded on racism, was the main reason for that.
Five years have passed since Trump said to get that son of a bitch off the field. The conversations that it sparked are still taking place even though the discussion about kneeling isn't the same as it was. It feels like Donald Trump is getting closer to being in handcuffs, as Colin Kapernick is still being blackballed from the football team.
It will be clear who was unpatriotic from the start. One man challenged America to be better, while the other tried to sell this country to the highest bidder.
