Dinosaur Valley State Park is located in the 'Dinosaur Capital of Texas' and is also known as Glen Rose, Texas. Dinosaurs were present in the area so the city is called so. Dinosaur footprints can be seen in the Paluxy River riverbed.

The most recent tracks were theropod footprints, which were only discovered because of the ongoing dry spell in the area that has caused the Paluxy River to shrink. The park is located in a county that is currently experiencing an exceptional dry spell.

Some commentary was behind the video that showedropod tracks. The person behind the camera said that theropods have three-toed patterns. The tracks are usually underwater, so we don't see them very often.

Theropods and sauropods can be found in the park. Theropod tracks are three toed and smaller than sauropod footprints. According to the Texas Parks and Wildlife website, it's thought to have been made by the Arocanthosaurus. The sauropod tracks are large elephant-like tracks and are thought to have been made by Sauroposeidons.

After a flood in the area in 1908, the first tracks were discovered by a boy on the Paluxy River. A man who was collecting fossils for the American Museum of Natural History went to Glen Rose in 1937 to look at theropod tracks. Dinosaur Valley State Park has a trackway of multiple steps of animals. In 1972 Dinosaur Valley State Park opened with a mission to preserve the dinosaur tracks and allow people to learn more about them.

The park has hiking trails, picnic and camping sites, and guided tours on horseback. The amazing display of dinosaur tracks is what makes the park a national natural landmark.
