Wizz Air has suspended the restart of Russia flights.
Wizz Air has put on hold plans to resume flights from the Russian capital of Moscow to Abu Dhabi.
The airline made no mention of a growing social media backlash, which included calls to boycott the airline, but referred only to industry supply chain limitations.
Wizz Air did not say what limitations it was talking about.
The airline initially planned to resume flights to Russia on October 3rd due to high demand from customers.
Some experts warned that the move risked damaging the brand.
The ultra low cost carrier responded to the criticism by saying that the flights would be operated by its Abu Dhabi venture, which is a registered carrier in the United Arab Emirates.
Wizz Air Abu Dhabi has a 49 percent stake in the European airline. A fund in Abu Dhabi has a majority stake.
Russian airlines are banned from European Union airspace as a result of the war in Ukraine, while European carriers have stopped operations with Russia.
The United States of America did not impose sanctions on Russia.
