According to a report, the Baltimore Ravens are facing an uphill battle in getting a contract extension for Lamar Jackson.
The five-year, $230.5 million extension signed by Kyler Murray has been surpassed by the Ravens, according to Jay Glazer.
The reason why is because Lamar Jackson is representing himself. When you have to go up to the front office to negotiate, it's hard. They offered him more than Kyler did. I'm pretty sure Jackson wants a fully guaranteed contract, so the DeshaunWatson deal throws things out of whack. I don't think the Ravens would want to do that.
A fully guaranteed five-year contract was signed by the Cleveland Browns.
Jackson sees why he would want the Ravens to match that level of commitment. Jackson has an award to his name, butWatson doesn't. Jackson has taken the Ravens to the playoffs three times.
There is no reason for Jackson to make less money than someone else.

TheClevelandBrowns acted in complete desperation, mortgaging several future draft picks and lavishing a massive new contract on a player who was already on a long-term deal and who was dealing with well-publicized allegations of sexual assault and misconduct In the event that he was suspended, Cleveland structured his deal to reduce the financial impact. The National Football League and the National Football League Players Association agreed on an 11-game suspension.
There has never been a sweeter contract in the history of the National Football League.
Murray's contract has more money in total guarantees but less in full guarantees. It's not clear what the Ravens offered, but it's hard to see why Jackson would take a contract that gave him less than what he got.
The stalemate with its star quarterback is the fault of Baltimore's cross-division rival.
