The chief executive officer of NSO Group is stepping down. As part of a restructuring that will see it focus on NATO-member countries, the company's co-founder and outgoing CEO said he was handing over operations to the COO. NSO is cutting its workforce according to a report. About 100 employees are expected to be laid off by the firm before it finds a permanent replacement.

NSO Group is facing scrutiny from both governments and other tech companies. The US Commerce Department banned American companies from doing business with NSO unless they got permission to do so. Apple sued NSO for allowing governments to spy on activists.

Shohat said that the company's products remain in high demand with governments and law enforcement agencies because of its cutting-edge technology. NSO will make sure that the company's technology is used for its intended purpose.
