On September 5th, the price of the ADAS will be increased to $15,000 in North America.

The current price of $12,000 will be honored for orders made before September 5. Musk said that owners of the electric car can upgrade their existing car in 2 minutes. Musk didn't say if there would be a price increase for the subscription option.

It is not the first time that Musk has raised the price of the ADAS. The price of the one-time payment went from $10,000 to $12,000. Musk said last month that the high value of the service, which he expects to deliver full self-driving capabilities by the end of the year, made it ridiculously cheap.

In the first half of the year, there appeared to be no change in the number of vehicles equipped withFSD. It's not true that cars can drive themselves, they need the human driver to stay alert and take control when necessary. This distinction has led the California Department of Motor Vehicles to accuse Musk's company of misrepresenting its products.

Musk said on Sunday that the price hike would happen after the release of the newest version of the company's software.
