There is no evidence that the Mar-a-Lago raid was politically motivated according to Rep. Liz Cheney.
Cheney was speaking with Jonathan Karl, co-anchor of ABC's "This Week," who asked her reaction to the FBI's search of the Mar-a-Lago estate.
She said that it was a serious thing for the nation to have the FBI execute a search warrant at the home of a former president.
Cheney said that she was ashamed that some of her fellow Republicans went after the FBI agents who executed the warrant.
"For us as a party to be in a position where we're reflexively attacking career law enforcement professionals in order to defend a former president is a really sad day for the party," she said.
The FBI could have planted evidence in the boxes they seized, according to Republicans.
Some of the agents received threats after a copy of the uncensored warrant was leaked, according to Cheney.
Threats of violence have been seen. Threats of violence forced the synagogue to cancel services. She said that this is a dangerous time.
Cheney is one of two Republicans who are looking into the Capitol riot.
The Espionage Act is one of the laws being investigated by the Department of Justice.
