There are several hotel loyalty programs that give lifetime status to people who have been loyal for a long time.
I wanted to learn more about how you can get lifetime status in the Marriott Bonvoy program. This is the easiest hotel status you can get.
You can earn either Silver, Gold, or Platinum status with Marriott Bonvoy.
The qualification requirements for each status are based on a combination of elite nights and years of elite status.
You need to earn two things in order to get Marriott Silver status.
Marriott Silver status requires at least 10 elite nights annually. Priority late check-out and 10% bonus points are included in Marriott Silver status.
You need to earn two things in order to get Marriott Gold status.
Marriott Gold status requires 25 elite nights a year. Marriott Gold status provides perks such as 25% bonus points, enhanced room upgrades, priority late check-out, a welcome gift of points, and more.
You need to earn two things in order to get Marriott Platinum status.
At least 50 elite nights are required for Marriott Gold status. Marriott Platinum status offers perks such as 50% bonus points, suite upgrades, 4PM late check-out, complimentary breakfast and lounge access, and more.
Some frequently asked questions would be a good way to explain some of the other nuances of Marriott status.
Not anymore, unfortunately. Marriott gave lifetime Titanium status to those with 750 elite nights, and 10 years of Platinum status to those with more than 750 elite nights, when they joined the unified loyalty program in the year 2000.
Unfortunately, this isn't offered on an ongoing basis. There is no way to get lifetime Ambassador status.
You can choose perks when you pass 50 and 75 elite nights each year with the Choice Benefits program. Unless they earn 50 or 75 elite nights in a year, lifetime members don't get to choose these.
I think it is worth mentioning because I get this question a lot. Does it mean that you only need 25 more elite nights to get Titanium status if you have lifetime Platinum status?
Unfortunately not. You don't get elite qualification nights with lifetime status because you don't have a certain status tier. If you want to get a higher tier, you have to meet certain criteria.
You can easily track your progress towards Marriott status. Once you log into your Bonvoy account, you can see your elite nights and years of elite status.
It is possible to earn lifetime Marriott status by using Marriott's co- branded credit cards.
How long does it take for your lifetime status to be posted to your account? It depends on your qualification method.
Marriott Bonvoy has the best lifetime status of any loyalty program. You can earn three different tiers of lifetime status, but elite nights and status earned through credit cards are also counted.
Marriott guests should be able to achieve lifetime elite status with a bit of effort if they use Marriott's co- branded credit cards. It's easier to earn lifetime status with Marriott than it is with other hotels.
