A man is using his son as a test subject in order to prove that the videos are not true.
Carmine Cupani, a North Carolina resident who owns an auto shop that importsTeslas, is taking to YouTube to share his own trial runs while his son stands in the middle of the road. He referred to the tech CEO Dan O'Dowd, who has been funding the tests showing electric vehicles crashing into child-sized mannequins, in the clips.
Cupani's first video was shared earlier this month and it shows the dashboard as the car recognizes a human figure and then slows and moves around his son
Cupani does a test with his son. The car's technology sees his son and stops to avoid him.
Some people look at it and wonder what he is doing. Cupani spoke to CNN. I do a lot of things like that, but I will make sure my child doesn't get hit.
Cupani said that Dan was an expert in that. I'm a pro driving instructor.
Some fans of the electric car company have taken issue with O'Dowd's tests, which have been funded by his organization. As part of the effort, O'Dowd tried to run for Senate on a platform based entirely on the effort.
The results of the safety test of the car company should be a call to action. The Full Self-Driving software is amazing, says Elon Musk. That's not the case. A lethal threat to all Americans is what it is.
