NASA is getting ready for the Artemis 1 Moon mission launch later this month, and the space program is packing it with appearances by celebrity guests like Keke Palmer, Chris Evans, and Jack Black.

This Artemis launch event is particularly significant because it kicks off the program intended to put American boots back on the Moon for the first time since the early 1960's.
The focus on star power over science and media resources drew disapproval from some space professionals. This is not the first time celebrities have supported a NASA launch. Jimmy Buffet, Gloria Estefan, and Diana Krall were among the musicians who attended the space shuttle launch in 2011.
