NASA is getting ready for the Artemis 1 Moon mission launch later this month, and the space program is packing it with appearances by celebrity guests like Keke Palmer, Chris Evans, and Jack Black.

The focus on star power over science and media resources drew disapproval from some space professionals. This is not the first time celebrities have supported a NASA launch. Jimmy Buffet, Gloria Estefan, and Diana Krall were among the musicians who attended the space shuttle launch in 2011.
