A dispute over the GOP Senate mid-term campaign has led to a furious attack by former President Donald Trump.

The senior senator from Kentucky should spend more time helping Republican Senate candidates get elected and less time helping his family get rich in China, said Trump.

"Why do Republicans allow a broken down hack politician,Mitch McConnell, to insult hard working Republican candidates for the United States Senate?" Trump asked on Truth Social.

McConnell has drawn ire from Trump after he said that Republicans will have a hard time flipping the Senate majority.

Recent polling shows that GOP nominees in states that are close to each other are having a hard time keeping up.

Mehmet Oz is a Trump-backed candidate in Pennsylvania.

Since Trump lost the election, he and McConnell have been at odds.

McConnell was angry with Trump after he appeared to accept Joe Biden's victory and condemn the former president for his role in the Capitol insurrection.

Trump wrote on Truth Social that McConnell's comments were an insult to honor and to leadership.

The former president commented on McConnell's wife, Elaine, who was one of the first Cabinet officials to resign after the Capitol riot. The House January 6 panel is said to have heard her speak.

Trump has focused on Chao's business dealings with China.

A government watchdog has accused her of using her office's staff and resources to support her family's shipping business.

McConnell said he would support Trump as the party's nominee in four years time.
