According to a report by The Wall Street Journal, Taiwan is learning how to defend itself against an invasion from China.

Smaller weapons have been used by the country to fight back against Russia.

The method of defense is similar to Taiwan's "porcupine strategy," which is used to prepare for a possible Chinese invasion.

Lee Hsi-Ming, the then-chief of the Taiwanese military forces, introduced the strategy of stocking up on anti-air, anti-tank, and anti-ship weapons.

The Wall Street Journal's Asia security correspondent said in a video that the porcupine strategy was when a smaller military tried to defend itself from a bigger military.

He said that the animal tries to cause so much pain that it can stop the attacker.

Taiwan is watching how Ukraine has inflicted losses on Putin's forces to learn how to defend against invaders with larger armies and weapons.

According to data from their defense ministries, China's military is much larger than Taiwan's.

According to Statista, Russia has more military personnel than Ukraine with over 1 million.

According to the Journal's report, defense experts say that fighter jets, helicopters, and tanks can easily be destroyed by an attack, which is why Taiwan used to invest in heavy equipment.
