After helping bring the first Super Bowl title to the Bay, Jon Gruden helped deliver the second one.

Dana White explained it that way on Saturday night, with no less an authority than Rob Gronkowski, a former tight end.

According to White, he worked behind the scenes on a deal to send Gronk and Brady to the Raiders in 2020. Things were quashed by the Raiders coach.

White worked to get Brady andGronk to come to the Raiders. It was almost done at the last minute, but at the last moment, Gruden said he didn't want them, and all hell broke loose.

It wasn't normal. Brady was already looking at houses, and it wasn't being said yet that 'Gronk' was coming, so Las Vegas would've had Brady and 'Gronk' the year that the Buccaneers won the Super Bowl.

Dana said that it was exactly what happened.

It worked out for the best, and I am happy it didn't go through. All worked out for the best. I'm glad we went to the other side of the country. I really liked that place.

The team acquired Rob Gronkowski a month before Brady joined the team. Brady threw three touchdown passes in the Super Bowl, two of which were caught by Gropper.

Two summers ago, when he mentioned a team not interested in him during free agency, White implied that the Raiders and Carr were the subject of a Brady slur.

Brady said that one of the teams wasn't interested at the very end and that they were sticking with their quarterback.
