The daughter of an influential Russian political philosopher known as "Putin's Brain" was killed in a car blast on Saturday.

The daughter of a nationalist thinker, Darya Dugina, died at the scene of a car explosion on the outskirts of Moscow.

According to the Investigate Committee branch for the Moscow region, the blast was caused by a bomb placed in the vehicle.

Dugina's father had been invited to speak at the literature and music festival when the blast occurred.

A car that caught on fire after the explosion was owned by Dugin. At the last moment, he got into a different car than the one he was supposed to travel in.

The explosion was thought to be an assassination attempt on the family by a friend of the family.

The criminal case has been opened into the death of Dugina. The state news agency said forensic and explosives experts are at the scene.

According to the Daily Beast, Dugina was a vocal supporter of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. She was sanctioned by the US this year because of a contribution she made to an article in which she argued that Ukraine should be admitted to NATO.
