UFC crowd, announcers in disbelief after Leon Edwards wins title (2:02)

The MMA world has never heard of Leon.

With a head kick in the final round of a fight he was soundly losing,Edwards knocked out Kamaru Usman to win the UFC welterweight title in the main event of UFC 281 on Saturday night at Vivint Arena.

The final time was 4 minutes, 4 seconds. He was the best pound-for-pound fighter.

One off Anderson Silva's UFC record, the 15-fight UFC winning streak was snapped byEdwards. One of the most stunning knockouts in the history of the sport happened.

"I can't think of a word to describe it," he said.

The more than 17,000 people in attendance were in for a treat late in the fifth when Usman leaned down to his right to defend anEdwards left and he was hit with a left head kick. He was less than a minute away from defending his title.

The Salt Lake City fans began chanting for Usman, but ended it with "Rocky"

Now, look at me! "I said that." Now, look at me! It's pound-for-pound one.

On its pound-for-pound list, ESPN has him as the top-ranked fighter. The 4th ranked fighter wasEdwards. The December 2015 fight was won by Usman.

Over the course of seven years,Edwards has never lost a fight. The Jamaican-born resident of England has not lost in over two years. He has a record in the UFC.

Prior to the loss, he had five title defenses. The Nigerian-born fighter, who trains out of Colorado, won the UFC title at UFC 235.
