The veteran New York Knicks guard, who missed 26 games last season due to injuries, is good to go right now.

He is expected to be rolling when training camp begins.

Rose had ankle surgery in December, which was initially described as a "minor procedure," but now it's reported that he'll be back in a couple of weeks. Rose was shut down for the year in April after failing to return to the lineup.

The Knicks fell to 37-45 last season after earning the fourth seed in the East with a 41-31 record.

The three-time All-Star averaged 14.9 points and 4.2 assists after he was traded from the Detroit Pistons. When Rose was on the court, the team scored more points per 100 possessions than any other team. It was the best mark for players with 10 or more appearances.

When Kemba Walker was on the court, the Knicks were minus-8.6 points per 100 possessions, but with Rose on the court, they were plus- 6.3 points per 100 possessions.

According to Tony Jones of The Athletic, the Knicks don't want to include Rose in a trade for Mitchell because they think he's so good.

Rose could have a big impact in 2022-23 as a veteran leader who provides two-way ability off the bench.

The Knicks should have some backup plans in case of another injury, as the 33-year-old hasn't topped 51 games in a season since the year after.
