The world was told Tuesday that high-speed internet on the highest mountain in Africa would be available to everyone.
The fourth highest mountain in the world, Kilimanjaro, will now be the premiere destination for climbers looking to document their climb in real-time on social media thanks to high-speed connections. The age-old question, "If I'm all alone on top of Kilimanjaro and don't post a selfies on social media, did it ever happen?", has been answered by this new development.

"Today up on Mount Kilimanjaro, I am hoisting high-speed INTERNET COMMUNICATIONS (BROADBAND) on the roof of Africa," he wrote. Travelers can now communicate from the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro.
The internet coverage only goes to Horombo Hut, which is around 12,700 feet above sea level. By the end of the year, there will be a way to get to the summit of the mountain.
It was dangerous for visitors to operate without internet. The Horomob hut campsite was where the conference was held.
The investment in high-speed internet on the mountain shows that it's an important source of revenue for the country. Thousands of people attempt to reach the summit of the mountain.
The cable car is planned to be built on the southern side of the mountain. Climbers and environmentalists were unhappy with the move.
