Gomez warns Dest against 'career derailing' Man Utd move (1:42)

It would be worse for Sergino Dest to stay on the bench at Barcelona than it would be for him to switch to Man United. There is a time and a place for this.

Sergino Dest knows what's going on, as Barcelona put pressure on the United States defender to leave the club.

Dest is one of the players that Barcelona can afford to lose because they need to raise funds and reduce their wage bill.

"We wanted to sign Cesar Azpilicueta, but we couldn't, so that's the situation," Xavi said when asked about the right-back position.

We have players who can cover there. Ronald, Sergi Roberto, and Kounde can all play there if there is an emergency.

Xavi said that Dest knows what's going on.

Xavi told Dest to look for a new club because he is no longer part of his plans for the season, according to a report.

Dest is under intense pressure to agree to a transfer in order to help register Kounde and strengthen other positions.

They told Dest earlier in the summer that they wanted him to stay because of his ability to cover left-back, but their financial situation has forced them to change their stance.

With just over a week to go in the transfer window, the number of potential suitors for Dest has reduced, with two Spanish clubs already investing in right-back this summer.

Manchester United could offer a path out of Barcelona for the U.S. international, if they were to make a move.

The two players that could be moved on in the coming days are Pierre-Emerick and Memphis.

Both will be available for Sunday's trip to Real Sociedad, but the door is still open for them to leave.

We don't know what will happen during the transfer window. Aubameyang is our player and I am counting on him. I think he is an important player, but we will see.

Neither Aubameyang nor Memphis has left yet. We will decide what to do if there is an offer for one of them.

According to sources, talks between the two Spanish teams over the subject of the Frenchman are progressing. Despite their interest in Marcos Alonso, Barcelona don't want the left-back to be part of the deal and will only demand cash.

There's an expectation that a middle ground could be struck at around 25m, with Barcelona moving for Alonso in a separate deal once they're sure they can register him.

Kounde will miss a second game this season as a result of Barcelona not being able to register him with LaLiga yet.

Xavi said they were waiting to see if Kounde would be available this weekend. It's all ready to go." There is nothing to report. To be able to register him, players need to be moved.
