In Friday's 20-10 preseason loss to the New England Pats, Carolina's Matt Corral had a nondescript performance, but more concerning is his health after the game.

Matt Rhule told reporters that Corral is going to get an X-ray on his foot after he came out of the game late in the fourth quarter.

The man left the stadium with a boot on his foot.

PJ Walker replaced Corral in the second and fourth quarters. The rookies went 9-of-15 for 58 yards and the offense couldn't get going against the Pats. Fans on social media criticized Rhule for limiting Corral to two quarters.

A third-round pick out of Ole Miss, Corral is seen as a potential quarterback for Carolina. He went 1-of-9 for 11 yards in his preseason debut. He doesn't seem to be a priority for the team this off-season.

After taking most of the reps in joint practices with New England, the quarterbacks were given the night off by the Carolinas. The two quarterbacks started against Washington, with the one who threw a touchdown. Rhule isn't sure which quarterback he wants.

Rhule is on the hot seat and the decision for this season's starter will be important. He has a combined record of 10-23 in his first two seasons as head coach, so the panthers are hoping for better results
