Donald Trump asked his daughter to get him a meeting with Hillary Clinton after the election, according to a new book by his son-in-law.

According to "breaking history," a copy of which was obtained by The Hill, the former president wanted to establish a "cordial relationship with Hillary to unite the country."

The memoir about his time as a senior White House adviser to Trump will be published on Tuesday.

According to Kushner, his father-in-law asked his daughter to reach out to Clinton to sort out a meeting with both Clintons. Hillary and Bill will be invited to dinner by Trump in the next few weeks.

Trump ended his outreach after Hillary backed the challenge to the election.

Clinton's campaign supported Stein's recount effort in Wisconsin.

After a fractious presidential campaign in which he appeared to encourage supporters to chant "lock her up" about Clinton, and told Clinton during a debate that if he was in charge, she would " be in jail", Trump's apparent outreach effort came.

Trump said in 2020 that he agreed with the "lock her up" chants.
