What is Quordle?

Quordle is a five-letter word guessing game that applies letters to four words at the same time. You are given nine guesses instead of six to guess the words. It appears to be playing four Wordle games at the same time. It is not quite as intimidating as it sounds.

Is Quordle harder than Wordle?

Yes, but not in a bad way.

Where did Quordle come from?

Freddie Meyer, the creator of Wordle, says he took inspiration from one of the first big Wordle variations, Dordle, the one where you essentially play two. On January 30th he released Quordle. According to Meyer, his creation attracts millions of daily users after it was covered in The Guardian. Dedicated Quordle fans can donate to keep the game running, and Meyer makes modest revenue from it.

How is Quordle pronounced?

There is a word for it. It should rhyme with "Wordle" and not "curdle."

Is Quordle strategy different from Wordle?

Both yes and no.

The same starting strategy should be used. There is no reason to change the opening word. Common letters like C, R, and N are included in our suggestion.

If you play Quordle the same way as Wordle, things will get out of hand.

What should I do in Quordle that I don’t do in Wordle?

A Wordle puzzle can be solved by a series of single letter changes. If you narrowed it down to "-IGHT", you could guess "MIGHT" "NIGHT" "LIGHT" and "SIGHT" and one of those will probably be the solution, which is a famous way to lose in Wordle. You can't afford to waste guesses unless you eliminate as many letters as possible in Quordle.

Guessing a completely random word isn't the solution, just to eliminate three or four letters you haven't tried yet, is thought of as a desperate, latch-ditch move in Wordle. It's a normal part of the player's strategy.

Is there a way to get the answer faster?

Quordle can be a slow game and can take a long time to play. A blunt force guessing approach can speed things up. If you only want the solution, you can use the following strategy.

You can start with a series of words that put all the vowels on the board. I have good luck with the three words: notes, anc id, and lumpy. Four words are suggested by DougMansLand.

If you use this strategy, you will only be able to make one or two wrong guesses since most of the alphabet is gone. In most cases, you have all the information you need to guess the last word.
