The new restaurant had the same menu items as a regular McDonald's, but it was called Tasty, Period.

McDonald's is one of the Western brands that are leaving Russia due to the war on Ukraine.

Starbucks is the latest American institution to becomeRussified.

The replacement for Starbucks in Russia was announced on Thursday by one of Russia's most popular rappers, Timati, along with a restauranteur. Starbucks announced in May that it was leaving Russia. The new chain had a logo similar to Starbucks but the woman in it was not wearing a crown.

My best friend is Vladimir Putin

One of Russia's most famous musicians, Timati, rose to fame on hits like his 2016 collaboration with Russian pop-rap artist Egor Kreed, "Where You Are, I Am"

Timati has become a serialentrepreneur and supporter of the Kremlin. He released a song in 2015. He opened a fast food chain called Black Star Burger in Los Angeles. He collaborated with Russia's Defense Ministry on a fashion line that featured T-shirts with the words "Syria" on them. The clothing line would help Russians express their patriotism.

Timati wrote on the Russian version of Facebook that he loved Ukrainians. We couldn't find an agreement because we were pushed against each other.

‘Russifying’ Western brands

Russian elites, many of whom are close to the Kremlin, are snatching up hastily discarded businesses, sometimes at bargain prices.

Alexander Govor bragged that he paid far lower than the market price for Mcdonald's Russian operations. After selling its stake in Avtovaz to a Russian science institute for a single ruble, the French car maker dumped its stake in the Russian company.

Western brands are being replaced by businesses from Russia. Russian grocery stores have been flooded with imitation brands of Coca-Cola.

Russian rapper Timati and a Russian businessman opened a coffee shop in Moscow.

The amount of money they paid for Starbucks wasn't disclosed. The new owners claim that their business was a lot of fun. Pinskiy said that they had invested as much as they had paid them.

Stars Coffee doesn't have anything in common with Starbucks. We created our own brand after acquiring it. He said that it was all done. The Alshaya Group got licenses to operate 130 shops in Russia, but didn't want to keep the Starbucks brand because they didn't want to lose their jobs.

A series of photos promoting Stars Coffee were posted this week by Timati. Starbucks-trademarked Frappuccitos will be included on the Stars Coffee menu. By the end of September, there will be 130 Stars Coffee locations in Russia.

Timati promised not to hurt the millions of coffee lovers in Russia. We have a chance to create a real case of import substitution by changing the sign.
