Looks like a boat... looks like an SUV... it’s Acura’s precision concept EV.

The Acura electric vehicle concept is said to be inspired by Italian power boats.

The Acura Precision EV concept is the company's "north star" for the direction of its future EV and focuses on a "modern expression of performance."

Acura’s not lying — that’s a boat.

Acura's LA design studio designed the Precision EV. It has a stealth roof on top of it's large body that makes it seem like a speed boat. Acura has not released much in the way of electric driving range, speed, or battery pack size, though one could assume there is plenty of room in that hull for extra cells.

The interior is based on an F1 cockpit that puts the driver in a lower position. No EV concept is complete without a yoke steering wheel, but time will tell if Acura is bold enough to sell one like a Lexus or aTesla.

When you want to battle the wakes of the road, the interior lights up in red, and it also turns ocean blue with underwater-like animated projection for its stationary mode.

Acura is an example of an electric vehicle that is less cartoon-like. The lighting effects in production cars are the new EV signature. The Ioniq 6 is an example of an EV that can be lived in without an engine.

The automaker is trying to use materials that are less harmful to the environment. Honda plans to make 40% of its global production lineup of fuel cell and EV vehicles by the end of the century.

The Acura Precision EV concept will be on display at both The Quail and the Concours d'Elegance on Sunday. There will be a production electric SUV from Acura in 24 years.
