The security issue is affecting macOS Monterey 12.5.1, iOS 15.6.1, and iPadOS 15.6.1.

There is a security flaw in some recent operating systems that could allow hackers to take control of your device.

The issue was described in two announcements on Wednesday, one for macOS Monterey 12.5.1 and the other for iPad OS 15.6. There are two parts of the operating system that are affected by these vulnerabilities. A kernel is a program at the center of a computer's OS that interface between the operating system and the hardware, while WebKit is the engine that powers Apple's ownSafari as well as any browser used on iOS

The security exploit can be used to execute arbitrary code, which means a hacker could run whatever code they want on your device. In their releases, Apple says that they have received a report that this exploit may have been abused on Mac and iPhone/iPad, but didn't say how many people might have been impacted. Updating your devices is the best thing you can do in the meantime.

System Preferences can be found in the top left-hand corner of your Mac. If an update is available, click Update Now, which should be on the bottom half of the window.

Go to the Setting application and navigate to General and then the software update. You need to be connected to the internet to download and install the software.
