The police force in a small town in Florida is going dark after every officer quits.
According to a news release from the town, most of the police officers resigned in August. There was no explanation for the resignations.
The town's residents and businesses will continue to receive comprehensive law enforcement and police protection services at all times according to the release.
The town said in a release that the sheriff's office will provide police protection services within the town's municipal boundaries. BCSO has been covering a lot of shifts for a long time.
It's not the first town to have its police department decimated by resignations.
In July, the majority of the Kenly, North Carolina, Town Police Department resigned over a conflict with the new town manager. The sheriff's office stepped in after most of the officers left.
