GOP candidate says call for Garland's death was 'facetious'

A Republican candidate for Congress in western New York said that the U.S. Attorney General should be executed for authorizing a search of Donald Trump's home.

The businessman made the comment in an interview with the right-wing website. President Joe Biden was criticized by Carl Paladino for a lack of leadership during an interview.

The unelected people in Garland's administration should be impeached, and he should be executed, according to Carl Paladino. The guy doesn't know what he's doing. He isn't a good soul. His methodology is terrible and he is trying to get an image. To raid the home of a former president is just a question of what is wrong with him.

The host pressed the man about what he meant when he said Garland should be put to death.

I'm not being mean. The man should be kicked out of office. The man shows his incompetence. He wants to get his face in front of the people, but his choice of issues and methodology is very sad.

A spokesman for the Justice Department did not reply immediately. Threats against the attorney general are usually investigated by the FBI. Messages were left with his campaign.

The candidate wasn't calling for Garland's death according to the spokesman.

When asked what he meant, Carl stated he was being facetious.

In 2016 he joked to a newspaper that President Barack Obama should die from mad cow disease and that his wife should be sent to live with a gorilla.

He was removed from Buffalo's school board for comments he made about the Obamas, but he argued that the comments about the Obamas were the real reason.

He was criticized for forwarding racist jokes to friends while running for governor.
