A two-year, $97.1 million contract extension with the Los Angeles Lakers will keep him in town for at least the next two seasons.

According to a report, James has been assured that the Lakers are willing to trade their first-round picks to improve their roster and return to contender status.

"League sources say James has been assured that the Lakers are willing to trade both of their available future first-round picks in 2027 and 2029 in order to return to contender status," Stein wrote.
