Southwest Airlines Puts Flights on Sale Through August 26

Southwest Airlines has a sale for people who are willing to be flexible.

A fare sale that runs through August 26 has been announced by the fourth largest airline in the country.

Some routes have fares as low as $59. The best deals will be for flights leaving on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in select markets, but customers should be aware that flights around the winter holidays are not included in the sale.

Airfares were expected to go down this fall, especially with people back at work who usually use their vacation time in the spring and summer, and with families with children going back to school.

It's cheaper to travel in September and October because of the drop in domestic airfare.

Southwest's sale increases the ante and speeds up the process for the airline to make sure it has enough volume for slow months.
