The Trump Foundation received undisclosed payments from Vince McMahon.
In 2007, and 2009, $4 million and $1 million were paid, the same year Trump appeared at a World Wrestling Entertainment event.
McMahon retired last month due to the investigation by the board of the company.
The Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday that Vince McMahon, the former CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment, made payments to Donald Trump's charity while he was on television.
McMahon paid $4 million to the Trump Foundation in 2007, the year that Trump shaved McMahon's head at a wrestling match. The same year Trump appeared on "Raw," he paid $1 million to the foundation.
An attorney for McMahon did not respond to a request for comment. McMahon's lawyer told The Journal that the payments should have been booked as business expenses.
In a securities filing this month, the World Wrestling Entertainment said that McMahon's money should have been reported.
According to The Journal, the company said that the $5 million was unrelated to McMahon's payments to former employees who had accused him of sexual harassment.
Both McMahon and Trump have been friends for a long time. Linda McMahon was appointed to head the Small Business Administration by Trump.
