The league and the players' association agreed on a suspension and fine for the Cleveland quarterback.

According to NBC Sports, the Commissioner of the National Football League wanted a full-season suspension and fine for the player because of his "predatory behavior."

There were 24 lawsuits filed against him from women who said they had been sexually harassed. The man settled 23 of the suits. He signed a five-year contract with a full guarantee.

I apologize for any pain this has caused. I take responsibility for the decisions I have made. While I'm away from the team, my focus is on becoming the best version of myself on and off the field.

The league says there will be no further legal actions after the decision. He will be able to return to work on Nov.28. The football season starts in September.

"Deshaun has committed to doing the hard work on himself that is necessary for his return to the league." Compliance with a professional evaluation and treatment plan is one of the requirements of the settlement. The foundation for this conclusion was laid by Judge Robinson and Peter Harvey.

The $5 million fine will be combined with $1 million from the NFL and the ClevelandBrowns to create a fund to support the work of nonprofits that educate young people on healthy relationships, promote education and prevention of sexual harassment and assault.

"Now that a decision on discipline has been made, we understand this is a real opportunity to create meaningful change," read a statement from the owners of the Cleveland Indians. Deshaun has been an outstanding member of our organization and has shown a true dedication to working on himself both on and off the field. He will be supported as he tries to earn the trust of the community.

A request for comment was not immediately responded to by the football players' union.
