A pair of new top 100 charts are being introduced by Apple Podcasts. Amazon is at the top of the charts.
The shows on Amazon dominate the charts. Wondery Plus subscribers can get Morbid, Smart Less, and Something Was Wrong early. Even if it's away from Amazon's platforms, the type of limited-time exclusive arrangement that Spotify has with shows like The Joe Rogan Experience and Call Her Daddy seems to be working in driving subscriptions.
Wondery Plus is the top subscription channel in the US. The Sword and Scale +PLUS Light are the most popular in the US.
The charts don’t directly show the top moneymakers
The paywalled shows may not make it onto the main rankings, but they should get a little more visibility with the new charts. It allows me to keep an eye on how much people are willing to spend on things.
There are caveats of course. Like the main Apple Podcasts charts, these new ones use a unique definition of top. These are not a direct measure of which shows have the most subscribers or make the most money. The new charts are based on a mix of engagement, follows, and completion rate. Apple weighs total subscribers and engagement with subscription content, according to the company's spokesman.
People still have to be tuning in, even if they make a lot of money. Chances are you have some big fans even if you make all that cash.
