There is an app called BeReal. The element of surprise makes it less fun. You don't know when the camera is taking your picture and you don't see a preview of yourself. If you are in a hurry or distracted, you may end up posting a photo that you don't like for the world to see.

The app doesn't make it easy, but you can get rid of Be Reals. If you want to make another post, you have to do it once a day. The next one you post won't be deleted if you deleted a BeReal.

If you think you want to remove your BeReal, here's how to do it.

How to delete a BeReal on iOS

  • Tap the three dots next to your BeReal’s timestamp.
  • Tap Options.
  • Tap Delete BeReal.

How to delete a BeReal on Android

  • Open the dot menu in the top-right corner of your BeReal.
  • Tap Delete my BeReal.

The app will remind you that you can only remove BeReal once a day and that you won't be able to remove the next one. It will ask you why and give you some options to choose from. You have one last chance to change your mind before posting.

BeReal doesn't want you to remove posts and wants you to think before you do. The purpose of the app is to showcase people's imperfect lives, and that definition requires leaving some imperfect posts up.
