As it launches its ColorOS 13 update today, the company has detailed the features that are on the way for its devices as they are upgraded to its flavor ofAndroid 13. The update will be arriving first on the Find X5 and Find X5 Pro, as well as 33 additional models in the Find, Reno, A, before it is released on other models.
One of the smaller features worth calling out is a neat pixelation feature. In the editing window, there is a new option called "Pixelate" which will blur out the contact's name and profile picture. The tool can be used to blur out messages. If you want to quickly share a message exchange, it could be helpful.

As you would expect, ColorOS 13 has many of the standard features built into this year's Android update such as enhanced privacy settings or the ability to mirror Google Messages on a pair of Chromebooks. The OxygenOS 13 update runs on the same underlying codebase as ColorOS. The two updates have the same always-on display widget designs, as well as similar design changes that include home screen folders and built-in controls for playing music.
There are some new features for OxygenOS that have not been announced. Up to three windows from a phone to a PC can be displayed on a connected Windows PC with the new "Multi-Screen Connect" screen mirroring feature. Two background apps are next to a phone's display. The transfer of files between a phone and a computer is simplified thanks to the connection.
Another small-yet-potentially-handy feature is something Oppo is calling "Meeting Assistant," which is designed to improve the reliability of calls made viaZoom, Microsoft Teams, or Google Meet by prioritizing their traffic data over other apps. The size of incoming notifications is reduced in an attempt to make them less distract while on the phone.
A new feature called the "Dynamic Computing Engine" is said to increase battery life and allow more apps to be kept open in the background.
The launch of ColorOS 13 comes just days after the official release of the latest version of the operating system, making Oppo one of the first third-party manufacturers to start rolling it out. Check out the graphic below to see how long the update will take.
