Casemiro lifts the Super Cup with Real Madrid
Casemiro won the Uefa Super Cup with Real Madrid earlier this month

Manchester United are interested in signing Casemiro from Real Madrid in a deal that would be worth about $60 million.

If he joined the side currently bottom of the league, he would become one of the club's top earners.

Manchester United have turned their attention to Casemiro as they look to address weaknesses in the middle of the park.

Casemiro has been with Real for five years.

Although Casemiro has a contract that runs to 2025, Real are aware of the scale of United's offer of a contract that could last for another decade. If he accepted, they wouldn't stand in his way.

Even if his place at Real is under threat from new arrival Aurelien Tchouameni, he would arrive at United on a big salary in keeping with his status as one of 30 nominees for the Ballon D'Or.

Casemiro is one of the best defensive players in the world and he has been effective in a team that drops deep when it doesn't have possession.

After Real activated his buy-back clause, the Brazilian returned to Spain after spending a season away from the Bernabeu.

He's scored 24 goals for the Spanish giants.
