Two of the biggest online sites for PC game mod have removed a project that cut in-game pride flags from the recently released PC port of Spider-Man. The mod was uploaded to the site by a brand new account with no modding history, which the site's administrators believe is a secondary account for one of the site's users.
The mod was intended to be a troll. The mod would not be allowed if the user made a puppet like a Coward. We would have simply removed the mod and told them that we did not want to host it, only banning them if they reuploaded it again after being warned. The creation of the puppet made it very easy for us to make the decision.
The mod was removed and the account of the sock puppet was banned. The United States flag was replaced with the pride flags of New York City in the mod.
Hi! We've removed the content and banned the users. ModDB is an inclusive environment for all and we do not permit targeting marginalised groups. Our content moderation is largely automated but when identified, we have a zero tolerance policy for this kind of content. https://t.co/0leqjUxqJD

ModDB, a popular source of mod for PC games, has removed a mod. ModDB doesn't allow targeting marginalized groups and is an inclusive environment for all. We have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to this kind of content.
In its post, the company says that it is for inclusivity and diversity. We will take action against anyone uploading a mod on our site that is meant to be against diversity or inclusivity. Content that may be construed as provocative, divisive, objectionable, discriminatory, or abusive towards any real-world individual or group may be subject to moderation.

The PC mod community has done a great job with the Spider-Man mod, allowing players to swing around the city as everything from Kingpin to Black Cat.
