A fix for an exploit that exists in the wild was included in the update for the Stable channel of the browser.

There is a fix for insufficient validation of untrusted input in intents. The share button on the address bar is one of the ways in which intents are used. Input validation is a weakness in the code.

All we know about the exploit is that it was reported by Christian Resell of the threat analysis group. The details of the exploit are hidden behind a wall in the bugs group and only those who are actively working on related components are allowed to see them. The details may be revealed after a certain percentage of users apply the updates.

The update will roll out over the coming days/weeks, but you can manually update chrome now.

There are more than one security fix in the update. This is the fifth zero-day vulnerability disclosed by the browser.
